At the end of the day before going to sleep, I would usually find myself asking what have I done feeling like I have wasted another day in my life.
I would often create so many to do lists and tasks that I need to finish in a day and would end up doing nothing in the lists I have made.
Its as if every time I will look at my calendar, plans and schedule, it overwhelms me to see so many things that I have to do which tempts me to procrastinate and deal with it later in the day.
I am also a perfectionist and I would often wait for the perfect moment or time before starting to do my projects thus finding myself not able to start anything at all.
And when I start on a project and sees just a tiny bit of mistake, I tend to start all over again. I just can’t help myself not to make things perfect or the way I want it to be.
On the contrary, whenever I need to do some planning and preparation for something, I tend to relax and leave it until the day’s due date before taking actions and doing what is necessary. Thus, I end up running out of time and resources to make things successful and leaves me all the more exhausted from being so stressed out trying to meet the deadline.
Do you ever feel like being caught in this kind of situations? Have you ever wished that you could be given more than 24 hours a day so you could fit whatever you have to do in a day without running out of time?
You can add minutes and hours to your days by trimming time wasters. These time wasters are:
We waste our time by overdoing things such as cleaning the kitchen every now and then for it to become spotless or cleaning the house to make sure there are no dusts at all.
We waste time by under-planning for events such as going to the grocery store and not bringing a list for the things that you have to buy for a dinner party in your house which prompts you to go back again to the store if you missed items that you need.
We waste time by overreacting when we keep on checking our emails every now and then or if we start a project all over again because of a tiny mistake and we just want everything to be perfect.
We are given assurance by God as Proverbs 37:5 says, “Depend on the Lord, trust in Him and He will help you.” If we learn to commit everything that we do to the Lord, He will help us eliminate time wasters such as overdoing, under-planning and overreacting because His Holy Spirit will guid us and direct us into what needs to be done every single day without you feeling guilty of wasting time.
To God Be The Glory!
