“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13
There was a science magazine that published an article that declared all normal children possess, in their infancy, qualities of genius.
What does it exactly mean?
If we are to dwell on it, it means that normal children possess a quality of genius in them.
For some reasons though, we might not believe it at all. We may find ourselves asking this question, “If I have genius in me, what happened to it?”
Well, for some people, they are able to develop it but for some, they fail to discover and eventually thinks that they have lost it. But you never lose anything and nothing is ever forgotten. The genius that you were born with is still there, it was just covered and buried because of what happened to you in the past.
Given the proper combination of circumstances and great insight of spiritual power, you will discover your genius and develop it.
What you become depends on you and God has given you the ability to overcome all the trials and difficulties in life in order for you to meet all situations. But you must learn to think positively and creatively in order to tap that hidden genius that you have.
Here are Positive Principles that I learned from Norman Vincent Peale on how to rediscover your genius.
Positive Principle 1: Know what you want.
To get what you want in life, you must first know what you want.
How do you expect to get what you want if you don’t even know what you want.
There are so many people complaining about their job and looking for something else to do but whenever they are asked what they want to do instead of doing their job, they can’t think of anything else.
You have to remember that you are going nowhere until you know where you want to go, what you can do best, what you would like to do. At that point where you know what you want to do at what you can dobest, dedicate yourself and your desires to God, and you will begin to get somewhere.
Positive Principle 2: Find yourself
Have you ever felt so lost you don’t know where to find yourself?
Such an odd question but for so many people, it rings a bell for them.
I know how it feels to be lost, not knowing who I really am and my worth in this world. I thought I knew myself as an achiever and someone who excels in everything I set my hand to. But when failure after failure came my way, I doubted myself and felt like a failure in everything that I do. I resented myself and felt so inferior from other people around me. I could never believe myself ever succeeding. I failed to become what God wanted me to be.
It is a terrible situation to go through life without ever finding who you are in the presence of God and becoming the person that God wants you to be.
I feel blessed that He sought to find me when I got lost. He made me believe in Him and believe that He created me for a purpose and in finding His purpose in me, I have found myself again.
Positive Principle 3: Get motivated.
Motivation means coming alive and getting a sense of purpose.
We often find ourselves lacking motivation because we look at our jobs or the work we do as ordinary. Nothing to get fired up or excited about. But in any human occupation whether you are a bus driver or a street sweeper, there are possibilities in it. You can do anything when you get motivated.
Colossians 3:23 says, “Whatever things you do, do them for the Lord. Do them as well as you can for Him. Do not work only for people.”
Don’t think that you are just doing your work to get paid and to follow your boss but remember that you are doing your work to serve God and to offer your service to His people for His glory.
Remember that you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.
If you follow these principles, in time, you will rediscover your genius and God will help you to develop and use it for His purpose.
To God Be The Glory!
